THE MONEY WOMAN: On Evil Nigerian Cultures

Nice.

So I finish typing a post containing a sensitive topic only for it to get wiped off before I can hit the 'publish' button. Now I have to try to remember the bulk of the article word for word. This better not be an indication of how my day is going to look like.🙄🙄

Nevertheless, it's a brand new week and I feel privileged to be a part of it.

But here I am with an issue that has plagued my mind ever since I first saw it about three/four days ago. First, I tried to ignore my anger and pain by telling myself that there is too much evil going on in our world to be jumping on every trend to rant about them. How many of them have I been able to solve that way in the past?

But I was very wrong about this one. In fact, anyone who after seeing, or being reminded, about this issue about to be raised doesn't feel distress and holy anger well up within him is going to have to have his veins checked for blood (to be sure it's not zobo running through them).

Now, this new week offers us another chance to fight our personal demons and the injustice bedevilling our society. But who/what are we going to be expending our energy tackling again?

Haters? Pastors? Feminism? Men? Or the 21st century women slave trade called Money Woman/Money Wife, going on in Obanliku LGA of Cross River state? Go through the attached pictures and make your choice.

No, we are not too late to this scene. No, it is never too late to address the evil of a yet unabolished custom that has enjoyed undue enablement by some callous Nigerians in the name of culture.

So now that you have been informed about the Money Woman custom, what within your power  are YOU going to do about it?
